Launch MyGPS on your iPhone. After clicking to AGREE to the terms of service, wait a few moments for MyGPS to establish a good GPS position (listen for the boop-BEEP sound), and THEN, click on the MyGPS button (the butterfly on the bottom left of the screen.) Enter the email address of whom you would like to track you and click on the Send button. Simple.

How are MyGPS invitations accepted?

The Maui Media Lab Living Earth Server will send an Email invitation to the address you provided. When the recipient opens the email they will be invited to enter their MyGPS Live Viewer password to accept your MyGPS tracking invitation and to add your iPhone to their MyGPS Live Viewer account. Your iPhone location will now show up on their personal Google Earth MyGPS Viewer layer.

How does someone get a MyGPS Live Viewer account?

The recipient of your tracking invitation will be offered an opportunity to create their own free MyGPS Live Viewer Account, at no charge and Emailed a link to download their own personal MyGPS Live Viewer Google Earth layer.

How is Google Earth used to track an iPhone running MyGPS?

When an invited MyGPS viewer opens their personal MyGPS Live Viewer layer using Google Earth, they will be able to view the movements of your iPhone whenever (and ONLY whenever,) you are running the MyGPS Application.

How come a MyGPS invitation I sent is not received?

The most frequest reason a MyGPS invitation may not be received by the intended recipient is an overly aggressive spam filter at the recipient's end. The second most frequest reason a MyGPS invitation may fail is that the email address was entered incorrectly. In both cases, try another email address.

What are the sounds that MyGPS makes?

MyGPS make a 'Tambourine' sound when it successfully starts, a 'boop-BEEP' sound with each GPS location lock, and a sonar server 'Ping' sound. Use the volume controls to raise or lower the sound volume.

How do I know if MyGPS Tracker is working?

You need to explicitly start the MyGPS Tracker application on your iPhone in order to start live tracking. When you hear the sonar 'Ping' sound you know MyGPS Tracker is operating properly. When you click the MyGPS button to send an invitation or change your status or when you click the Info button to start the MyGPS Network Viewer, MyGPS Tracker automatically turns off. You must explicitly restart the MyGPS Tracker application to enable live tracking.

How do I turn the screen off while MyGPS Tracker is running?

MyGPS Tracker works with the screen off as long as music is playing on your iPhone. First, start the iPod function on your iPhone. Start some music playing. Now, start the MyGPS Tracker application and click to AGREE to the terms of service. MyGPS Tracker will continue to operate even if you click the sleep button on the top of your iPhone. MyGPS sonar 'Ping' sounds provide audio confirmation that MyGPS is working.

Do I need to send a tracking invitation every time?

No. You only need to send a tracking invitation to someone once. Once someone accepts your tracking invitation, they need only launch Google Earth to view your MyGPS live tracking position. Of course, you need to be running MyGPS Tracker on your iPhone.

Does MyGPS Viewer work with more than one MyGPS Tracker?

Yes. MyGPS Viewer will display at the same time, all the live MyGPS Trackers for whom you have accepted tracking invitations. MyGPS Viewer can be used on the desktop or iPhone by families, friends or even to track a vehicle fleet.

How do I quickly scroll to the top of the screen?

Click the Status Bar at the of the screen to quickly scroll to the top.
